1. I really like candid pictures over posed pictures. Do you do that?
I would say that at your wedding I am about 80% candid. I will guide you through wedding party pictures,
family formals, and couples portraits. The rest of the time I prefer to be a fly on the wall and document your wedding as it unfolds capturing those candid moments we all love.
2. Do you shoot digital or film?
I shoot digital. I use professional Nikon SLR’s. I also carry back up cameras to your event. I can never be too careful!
3. Do you have insurance?
Yes I carry equipment insurance as well as liability insurance should your venue require it.
4. Are you part-time or full-time?
I specialize in weddings and am full time. I only take 20 weddings a year to ensure I am able to give you the quality experience you deserve.
5. What is the average turn around time for wedding photos?
Portrait sessions are ready for viewing at 2-3 weeks. Wedding galleries are available for viewing at 6-8 weeks.
6. Do you help choose locations for portraits?
Absolutely. Send me some photos that you adore and I'll give you some locations ideas that fit your style and vision.
7. Do you pick out the pictures for our album?
I know life gets busy after your wedding. For this reason I do choose the photos for your album design just to take the pressure off of you. Once the design is completed you will receive a link to view the design and are able to make as many changes you may want until you are happy with the design. We won’t print it until you approve it.
8. What happens if you are unable to shoot my wedding because of an emergency?
I have never had to miss a wedding in close to 10 years, but I do have safe guards in place JUST in case. I have a list of photographers I trust to shoot your wedding in the unlikely event I am unable to photograph your wedding due to unforeseen events. Since there are two photographers with all of my packages it is highly unlikely we would both have an emergency at the same time. If for some reason I am unable to find a replacement you would be refunded any money paid to date that I haven’t provided services for.
9. How many hours of photography do I REALLY need?
I generally start photographing your wedding at least 2 hours before your ceremony begins. This will give me time to get some getting ready shots, details, and some important pre-ceremony pictures. If you and your husband decide to do a first look I like to begin 3 hours before your ceremony. Depending on the end time of your reception you will most likely need between 7-10 hours of photography. The average is 8 hours of photography.
10. How many final photos will I receive?
I will carefully weed out all the photos that didn’t turn out (blurry photos, eyes closed etc.) You generally receive an average of 100 final photos per hour of shooting depending on the activity at your wedding. Don’t worry about missing photos. I promise you will receive complete coverage of your wedding day.
11. Do you edit ALL final photos that I will receive?
Yes I sure do! All your final photos will be edited. My editing consist of basic color correction and minor skin retouching if necessary. What you see on my website and blog is a good representation of what your final photos will look like. My goal is have you looking your best but at the same time not altering your images TOO much. Major retouching i.e. removing objects from photos, major skin retouching, dental retouching, hair retouching, and any retouching that may require the use of a professional retoucher will incur additional fees.
12. What do you wear on Wedding days?
Don't worry I'll make sure I shower, put on make up, AND brush my hair for your wedding! HA! All joking aside, I maintain a professional look that includes dress pants, dress blouse, and comfortable shoes ( no tennis shoes). I gravitate towards dark colors because who doesn't LOVE black? But I will throw on a colorful blouse to mix things up. My main goal is to blend in with guests.
13. Do you use a second shooter at all your weddings?
Yes! When you hire Celina Gomez Photography you are getting me as your main shooter and a qualified second shooter. My second shooter has been with me for 8 years. Using the same second shooters allows me to give you consistent results. My second shooter is my second pair of eyes and has certain responsibilities at your wedding that allows us to give you complete coverage of your event.
14. Do you work from a shot list?
Yes & No. The only list of shots I follow is the list of family formals. You will fill out a questionnaire where you can customize the formal photos I will take on your wedding day. The rest of the time I am documenting your wedding as it unfolds. I'm looking for genuine moments to photograph and if I was working from a list i.e. "take photo of mom fixing veil" I may miss the moments that make your wedding unique. I have been photographing weddings for close to 10 years so I will make sure to get those must have shots that happen at every wedding. If you have something unique to your wedding please note it in your questionnaire so that I am aware of it. If you have photos that you love and want to make sure to get on your wedding day shoot me over an email and I'll make sure to save it in your file.
15. Do you have experience photographing multicultural weddings?
I have had to pleasure of working with many different ethnicities and cultures in my years of photographing weddings. Shoot me an email and ask for examples of work similar to your event.
16. How much is your deposit and how do we reserve our wedding date?
So you’ve decided we’re the perfect fit? Great! When you are ready to move forward and reserve your wedding day I will send you a link to fill out your wedding agreement online. 50% of the total package price is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is split into two payments (2 months before your wedding date and 2 weeks before your wedding date) I take all major credit cards as well as check and cash.
